FAQs
Frequently asked questions.
How the firm works with sponsors, operators and capital providers — and what to expect when you engage NWVT.
-
01
What does NWVT do?
NWVT is an independent advisory and structuring firm based in Mexico City. We originate, structure and arrange capital for real-asset transactions across Mexico and Latin America, working from the business model through to financial close — the commercial model, the participants, the payment and repayment mechanics, the legal and documentary structure, and the capital structure that funds the asset.
-
02
Who do you work with?
Sponsors, developers and operators with a transaction that needs to be originated, structured or funded, and capital providers looking for assets that fit their mandate. We also advise public entities on infrastructure programmes.
-
03
Which sectors do you cover?
Energy and power infrastructure, including storage and the energy transition; EV and mobility; oil and gas; real estate development and hospitality; digital infrastructure; and financial services.
-
04
Is NWVT a bank, a fund or a lender?
No. NWVT is an advisory firm. We describe ourselves as a boutique investment bank to describe the services we provide, not a regulated banking status: the firm does not take deposits, does not lend and does not manage third-party funds, and its corporate name contains no reserved banking term. Capital for the transactions we advise on comes from the banks, funds and institutional investors whose mandate the asset fits.
-
05
Why is the firm led by lawyers?
Because enforceability and bankability are the same question. In most mandates the commercial terms are agreed first and then handed to counsel to paper. We design the structure, the documentation and the financing together, since a transaction that cannot be enforced is not one a credit committee will fund.
-
06
What does “one economic role per transaction” mean?
On every mandate NWVT acts in a single economic capacity — adviser, structurer or arranger — and that role is elected in writing when the mandate is signed. It keeps our incentives aligned with the client’s and removes the conflicts that arise when an adviser is paid on more than one side of the same deal.
-
07
At what stage should we engage NWVT?
As early as possible. Our work usually begins at origination, before a transaction has a structure, a capital plan or a document set, which is where most of the value in structuring is created. We also take on transactions already in process that need restructuring, a lender package or a capital-raising process.
-
08
Do you work outside Mexico?
Mexico is our core market. We also advise on transactions elsewhere in Latin America and on cross-border mandates involving international sponsors and capital providers, including in the United States.
-
09
How are engagements documented and kept confidential?
Every mandate is governed by an engagement letter that sets out the scope, our role and the terms of the engagement. We work under confidentiality agreements as a matter of course, and counterparties and figures for undisclosed transactions are shared only with their consent.

How do we start a conversation?
Write to contacto@nw-vt.com. Sponsors and operators should outline the asset, the capital being sought and the stage the transaction has reached; capital providers, their mandate, ticket size and the sectors and geographies they are looking to deploy into.
